Use Jump Rings to Make Creative Jewelry

Jump rings are metal circles that you can open or close by using pliers. They are a very popular connector to use in jewelry making. Using these rings, you can form your own chain link jewelry, hanging jewelry or connect several different chains together.

Jump rings come in all different kinds of materials including silver, brass, base metal, silver plated, and coated colored. They also come in various different sizes ranging from2mmto10mmand above. As they are available in many different sizes and colors, they can help you to create different style jewelries. When you begin jewelry making, you many not have a need for jump rings as you might well be making “string” jewelry with leather thong that just knots together, but as you progress on your jewelry making journey, you will need to have them in your arsenal of materials. These rings give a professional finish to your pieces, finishing them off nicely, and you can use them to make complete pieces of jewelry with a method called chain maille. They also hold your jewelry together, preventing it from falling apart.

Jump rings are the best choice for jewelry makers to make hanging jewelry. A jewelry design from PandaHall.com’s official Facebook page is a good example. The materials required are a big blue square Swarovski crystal beads (has been glued on pendant setting already), three light purple drop Swarovski crystal beads, one oval clear Swarovski crystal beads, some jump rings, head pins, eye pins and earring hooks. String head pins through purple beads and make a loop on the other ends, and add two of them on the loops of blue square pendant setting by jump rings. String one eye pin through a clear oval bead, and make a loop at the other end. Attach the third purple drop bead on one loop of clear beads by using a jump ring, and attach blue square bead pendant setting (middle loop) on the other loop of clear bead. Till now, the hanging part of the earring is finished. The last step is using a jump ring to attach the hanging earring to hook. A fashion and elegant hanging earring is finished. You just need follow the same steps to make the other one for a pair.
