Jewelry making is more and more popular, and more and more people start jewelry making as their career or hobby. Once you determine to start making jewelry, you need to buy some jewelry making tools, especially the essential ones.

Since jewelry making can be quite fiddly and time consuming, it is important to think about comfort. You will probably be doing a lot of squeezing, which may hurt your hands and wrists. So you need to use some jewelry making tools to make jewelry making is easy. The widely used jewelry making tools are including jewelry pliers, wire cutters, tweezers, knives, scissors and many others. Jewelry pliers are used for jewelry makingmany different tasks, just like grasping, bending, straightening, loops and securing. Well, about the jewelry pliers, there are many different types --including round nose jewelry pliers, chain nose or bent nose pliers, flat round nose pliers, side cutting pliers, crimping pliers and etc. Each plier has its special usage.

Wire wrapping jewelry is very popular. If you want to create wire wrapping jewelry, the most basic jewelry making tools you must have are round nose pliers, flat round nose pliers, bent nose pliers and wire cutters. A wire cutter is essential, as the jewelry making wires come in spools and you need to cut off specific sizes. The round nose pliers are used for making various sized loops in wire. The size of the wire loop is dependent upon where on the nose the wire is placed. Here I’d like to share an idea about how to make a simple wire wrap glass pendant. I suggest you to use wire cutters, round nose pliers and flat round nose pliers. Please use strong enough wire to support the glass pendant. Determine your glass pendant and cut off enough wire for your design by wire cutters. It is always best to cut more than you think you need. Use round nose plier to make a loop and twist the two wires under the loop to fix it. Then, grabbing the end of shorter wire with your round nose plier and curl it into a closed loop. Securely grab the loop with flat nose plier and continue curling the wire around itself unit you think it is enough. Next, place the wire on the back of glass pendant, and bend the wire at the points where you want both ends to wrap around the front the pendant. Use the long wire to wrap your pendant for one or two more circles to fix it. Curl the long wire with the same method as the short one. Finish the design by wrapping the final curled ends around the frond of pendant.

Wire wrapped jewelry making is not difficult as you think as long as you choose the right jewelry making tools and practice more. Just do more practices, and create your own wire wrapped designs.
