Today,
most people are no stranger to jewelry making. Some people choose it as
vocation, and some people take it as hobby. No matter what you regard it as,
Mother’s Day is coming. Have you prepared the jewelry gift for her? I have two
ideas about necklace making for Mother’s Day.
Pearls
are always one of women’s favorites, and widely used in jewelry making. So, a
necklace making with pearls is a good choice of jewelry gift for Mother’s Day. I
used pearl beads in two different sizes. The necklace is about 430mm long so
that I cut off a length of white sewing thread about 900mm. Step 1, string the
sewing thread through a jump ring, and double over sewing thread. Step 2,
string a large pearl bead on two strands of thread together. Then, string two
pieces smaller pearls on one strand, and two pieces on the other strand. String
a larger pearl bead on two strands of thread together again. Step 3, repeat step
2 for more times, till the length is long enough. Step 4, string the two
strands of sewing threads into the ring of lobster claw clasp, and make a knot
to stop the beads fall off. Till now, an easy making but elegant handmade pearl
necklace making is finished. There is no woman won’t like pearls and pearl
jewelry. So, a pearl necklace is a good gift for your mother on her holiday.
The
other jewelry making idea for Mother’s Day is a gemstone necklace. I used 3pcs yellow
striped agate beads (about 20x37~40x5-7mm), glass beads (8~12x6~8mm) and some
brass findings (3~9x2~6mm) for this necklace making. Step 1, cut off a length
of jewelry wire about 22 inches. String a crimp bead and jump ring from on one
end of jewelry wire, and use crimp jewelry plier press crimp bead to make a
loop to hold the jump ring. Step 2, string half of the small glass beads and
some tiny brass spacer beads one by one on jewelry wire. Then, string 5pcs
larger glass beads with a bead cap and spacer bead at each end. Step 3, string
tiny flower bead caps, 3pcs striped agate beads, 2pcs larger glass beads on
with layout like picture. Step 4, string the rest glass beads and findings like
step 2. Step 5, the last step is string a crimp bead and lobster claw clasp on
the jewelry wire to make an end. Now, a fashion and elegant gemstone necklace
making is completed.
Jewelry
making (necklace making, bracelet making, earring making etc) is not hard or
difficult as some people think. Just start to make jewelry if you like jewelry
making, and create your first necklace making as a gift to your mom on Mother’s
Day. It would be the best jewelry gift she received.
