You
are unable to create beaded jewelry designs without jewelry tools. There are
many different types of jewelry making tools for different usages. Choosing
correct jewelry tools is very important and useful for your jewelry designs.
Jewelry needles are not the widest used jewelry making tools, but are very
useful.
A Set of Eight Pliers |
There
are some jewelry tools essential for jewelry making, including round nose pliers,
crimping pliers, nylon tipped pliers, hammers, flat round nose pliers, jewelry
needles and etc. Learning how to make loop is an important part of jewelry
making. You may need to make loops hang tiny danglers and sew threads through
them, to fix hooks at the end or some little trinkets. Crimping pliers are a
tool used to press crimp beads to stop beads fall off thread, cord or wire. The
main function of needles is sewing. Many a time, you may need to sew beads, stitch
a piece of jewelry on fabric or use threads of varying thickness to make your
jewelry items. If you are using thread to string beads, a small pair of
scissors or a sharp thread cutter/nipper for snipping of the ends neatly is
required. Sometimes bead holes may not be cleaned properly by the manufacturers
or have small untidy bits sticking to the edges or the hole maybe too small for
the wire to enter, for this purpose the bead reamer is produced.
Steel Beading Needles for sewing leather |
Different
types of crafting require specialized tools for achieving high quality look.
The craft of sewing uses needles to sew stitches into fabric. Beading and
jewelry making also require jewelry needles. Although beading needles appear to
be similar to sewing needles, they are specially made to string beads rather
than sew fabric. The design of both types of needles suits the activities
within their individual crafts. Jewelry needles (beading needles) come in
different sizes. They range from 10 to 16. The larger the number, the thinner
the needles. When you choose needles for beads, choose a needle that has a
number one higher than the beads you will use. For example, for seed beads size
11, you should use jewelry needle at size 12. There are also other needles to
get for beading, like twisted wire needles, where the eye collapses as it
passes through the needle. These needles are great for stringing beads, but not
for piercing fabric.
Jewelry
tools are very useful and handy; you’d better to store them well once you don’t
need them. About jewelry needles, keep them in the packs that they came with. And
don’t throw these needles, unless they are broken.
